Project description

The contract work scope included a U.S. Army demolition waste area to be recontoured and covered with compacted embankment fill in order to provide a suitable subgrade for an overlaying cover system.

Entitlement issues

Defective plans and specifications, additional clearing and grubbing, required testing in excess of the contractual requirements, differing site conditions and project suspension.

Type of impacts

The contractor incurred substantial cost overruns relating to disruption, extra work, change in work sequence, suspension, weather impacts, delay and acceleration.
