Ken Hughes

Ken is a consultant with The Sutor Management Group. He has over 26 years of accounting and consulting experience, 20 of which have been within the construction industry. His past clients have ranged from start-ups to companies with revenues in excess of $250 million, and include companies that encompass the entire range of the construction industry. Ken was previously employed with the Sutor Group from 1997 until 2003. He rejoined the firm in 2008.

Ken’s construction industry experience has been obtained from both his employment with construction firms and with outside CPA and Consulting firms.

In the role of Controller and CFO, Ken utilized his substantial experience in the design and implementation of accounting and project information systems, as well as practical Controller level management expertise. His duties included evaluating and recommending enhancements to current internal project reporting practices, maximizing relationships with bank, surety and governmental agencies through timely and accurate financial reporting. These hands-on experiences give Ken the ability to understand the internal complexities faced by our clients, and allow him to quickly assess the needs presented by a variety of situations.

In his role with the Sutor Group, Ken has worked closely with contractors of all sizes and specialties to meet their accounting and consulting needs. Working closely with other members of the Sutor Group, Ken has gained extensive experience in the preparation of assertive contractor claims, preparation of termination for convenience settlement proposals and other construction related cost analyses. Ken has also performed in traditional review, audit and tax engagements along with providing services utilizing his skills in internal accounting controls and information systems.
